Open the app and tap Start — no account needed. Film a combo after class with the app's own camera (see below), or add a clip someone already filmed of you. Before your first upload you confirm that you have the right to upload it and that you're 18 or older. Then Mira, the app's AI, can watch it: she asks first, and you can just save the clip instead. She writes what worked for the dancer you say you are, each moment pinned to the timeline; tap one to jump to it. It usually takes a few minutes, and you can leave the app meanwhile.
Not to film, upload, or read Mira's compliments for yourself. Sharing a video with people — a partner, a group, the public feed — and writing compliments to other dancers need Sign in with Apple, because compliments go from someone to someone. Apple shares the name you choose and lets you hide your email.
After class, you and your partner run the combo for a minute while two phones stand on a chair about seven steps away; the app walks you through the setup. Its camera records the picture only, no sound, and it starts only when it sees exactly the two of you, head to toe, and nobody else. Before Mira watches, you hand your phone to your partner: a page tells them where the video goes and asks for their yes, and whether they're 18 or older. If they say no, the clip is never uploaded. A clip filmed this way stays with you and Mira: it can't be shared, published or saved to Photos. If you like, the app reminds you 30 minutes before class on the days you choose; you can stop the reminders at any time.
Nobody, until you publish it. Each video is published on its own, and you pick the audience: a partner you name, a group you invited, or Everyone — the public feed (the Room tab), where any signed-in user of the app can watch it and leave a compliment. A few frames of every video posted to Everyone are checked automatically by Google Cloud Vision, and a flagged video waits for a person before it appears there. Publish to Everyone only what you're content for strangers to see. You can unpublish or delete a video at any time; unpublishing stops further access but can't recall what people already saw. Compliments written by the AI, and the number of likes a video got, are shown to its author and to nobody else.
A monthly allowance of fresh-video analyses, with all dance styles included — the exact number is shown in the app. Revisiting an already-analyzed video with another lens is free. When you run out, you can wait for the monthly reset or subscribe to Premium.
An auto-renewable subscription (monthly or annual, no free trial) that unlocks unlimited analyses and premium share templates. The price is shown in the app before you confirm.
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account. To manage or cancel: on your iPhone open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, choose Dance Kudos, and change or cancel it there. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Open the paywall in the app and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase.
You can delete a single practice video in My videos: press and hold it (or tap its …) and choose Delete — the compliments and catches attached to it are removed with it. To remove everything, go to the You tab → Delete my data if you never signed in, or the You tab → Account → Delete account if you did (this also revokes Sign in with Apple). It deletes your stored videos, compliments, catches and voice recordings. Product analytics are not linked to your account: the app stops them and resets their identifier when you delete, and events already sent stay without your name or account. Practice videos can show identifiable people, and the AI service that writes the compliments may only be used by adults, so the app is for users 18+ and asks you to confirm you have the right to upload what you upload. Please don't upload videos of minors without the rights and consent to do so.
Mira's compliments are automated, and she writes only about pair dancing and only about what worked. Clear, well-lit footage where both of you are visible head to toe works best. When she couldn't write anything she was sure of, she says so, and that clip doesn't count toward your free clips that month. If one doesn't fit, remove it from its card's … menu — that tells us it missed, and it genuinely helps.
Everything here is compliments-only: Google's Gemini, an AI, checks every compliment (for a spoken one, its transcript) before it is delivered. If something still feels off, report it — from the card itself for a compliment, or from the video's … menu for a post — and you can block the person. They aren't told; we are, so we can look at the account. Reporting a video, or a compliment in the Room, also hides it from you straight away, whatever we decide afterwards; a compliment you received and reported from its card stays there until you delete it. Reports are read by a person, and we act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. When reports are upheld we may close the public feed for that account; that is a decision on the facts, not a fixed number of strikes.
If the video was addressed to you as the partner, you can pull it out of the public feed yourself, in one tap — the person who posted it can't reverse that. To have it removed entirely, open it in the app, tap … at the top right and choose "Are you in this video?", then "Take it down" (in version 1.2 of the app: … > "Report this video" > "I am in this video and I did not agree"). If you don't use the app, or can no longer find the video in it (a report hides it for you), email info@dancekudos.app with enough detail to identify the video (a link, or who posted it and roughly when). We act on these requests within 24 hours, and we don't tell the person who posted it who asked.
